Hi, I am Rita. I spent the last forty years working in the accounting field. With encouragement from family, friends and fellow artisans, I am now going to use the other side of my brain to be creative and have fun.
During those work years I did some exploration on the creative side of life and took classes in painting, drawing, wood carving, metal etching, metal-smithing, beading, enameling, glass fusion, mosaic and silver fusing ( to name a few). I am also a certified artisan in precious metal clay. Retirement from accounting has now given me the opportunity to fully explore how I can combine the techniques I have learned from numerous teachers to create my own style of jewelry. Using a variety of raw materials, I incorporate a unique hand-crafted centerpiece into each piece of jewelry that I create.
In the future, while creating jewelry, I will also continue carving and adding to my collection of wooden creations, while I enjoy life with my husband Peter, my son Matt, BJ the silky terrier and Whiskers the black and grey tabby cat.
Nice work Rita!!!
Thanks. It has been fun.
